Neil Pill, founder of ManKind 360°

Hello! I’m Neil, I specialise in helping professionals seeking deep personal transformation, supporting them to refocus and realign their lives with purpose to thrive both personally and professionally. I’m an empathic, down-to-earth coach with a natural ability to understand and connect with people.

From Success to Rock-bottom
For years, I was a “happy workaholic”—driven, curious, and passionate about solving problems creatively. My Type A personality and strong drive meant I thrived on adrenaline, taking on challenges and working long hours without any breaks. But at age 43, after decades of pushing myself, my mind and body finally hit a breaking point. I was burnt out and diagnosed with insomnia, depression, anxiety and PTSD. In my struggle to cope, I turned to alcohol for relief and isolated myself from the world. I couldn’t see myself ever being able to return to my former self and it felt like my life was over.

In only nine months, I went from being at the top of my career to hitting complete rock-bottom. I had reached a breaking point and decided: it’s time to end my life.

The Transformation Point
Seconds before I was about to end it all, a switch flipped in my mind, stopping me in my tracks. In that final moment, a thought surfaced: “I can’t believe you’re doing this to me. I’m just trying to protect you from the pain.”

That moment became the turning point—the beginning of what I now call the ManKind 360 philosophy. Instead of giving up, I chose a different path, one of mental and physical recovery.

I applied the same problem-solving skills I used in business—root cause analysis, 360° thinking, and process mapping—to my own well-being. I immersed myself in the study of stress, psychology, addictive mindsets, neurochemicals, relationships, trauma and traditional medicine. I combined this with yoga, meditation, nutrition, and holistic therapies, which enabled me to restore balance, rebuild my well-being and transform my life in ways I never thought possible.

My Approach to Coaching
Today, I use this 360° holistic approach to guide others through their own transformations. I help my clients break free from self-sabotage, explore their authentic selves and live with purpose, both personally and professionally. Over the past seven years, I’ve worked with clients worldwide, delivering tailored coaching programs that empower them to design their own life transformations.

Professional Experience and Expertise
In addition to my personal journey, I bring over 25 years of professional experience in business management, team coaching and leading transformation initiatives. I’ve managed multi-million-pound businesses, led turnaround projects in over 50 locations, and played a key role in major company mergers and one of the UK’s largest IT projects. Having faced the challenges of leadership transitions, restructuring, and organisational change, I’ve gained invaluable insight into what it takes to drive transformation in complex environments.

Professional

Neil has been managing businesses, coaching teams and supporting transformation management for over 25 years.

From a humble grassroots career start and dedicating 50,000+ practical working hours to sales, people, stock, logistics and operational business systems he rose through the ranks to senior management.

He’s been headhunted to manage and improve multi-million-pound businesses, performed turn around trouble shooting roles in over 50 locations, merged companies and became a subject matter expert for one of the UK’s largest I.T projects.

He has first-hand experience of the impact of change, leadership challenges, management restructures, centralization and de-centralized policies. He’s been on the frontline of strategy success and failure and shared in the people and teams’ emotional highs and lows of business.

Personal

Neil is an honest, down-to-earth person with a natural affiliation to people. He would have described himself as a self-confessed happy workaholic, very curious and a highly creative problem solver.

He has a type A personality and a focused mindset. Switching off isn’t natural. This means working without breaks, burning the candle at both ends and dedicating 60 hours a week to work was normal. This went on for decades.

At 43, he suffered burnout and was diagnosed with insomnia, depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress.

Worried about prescription medication, he incorrectly chose alcohol and substitutes to numb the pain and silence the mind and thoughts.

He couldn’t understand what had happened. From successful, outgoing and confident, he sought isolation and soon became too anxious to even leave the house.

9-months of inner turmoil, shame and guilt, he couldn’t fix his mental health problems on his own. Exhausted; he believed the only logical solution was to end it all.

His journey

From rock bottom, Neil embarked on a total mental and physical health recovery plan. To apply his same logic of business process mapping, root cause analysis and 360 thinking with the emotional intelligence for the personal, loving and human side of life.

How can we self-sabotage, feel such personal failure and sometimes contemplate life is not worth living?

Studying the mind, stress, psychology, addictive mindset, neuro chemicals, relationships, emotions, past trauma, neuro linguistic programming and traditional medical treatments. He combined this with a yoga qualification, health and wellbeing practices, meditation, nutrition and holistic therapies to support and reconnect the mind, body and spirit.

He has applied this knowledge to heal, grow and transform life.

Neil is a proven and experienced life and business coach. Proactive, empathic, he is a real game changer.

The link between our second brain, our gut, is scientifically proven. Our health, physically and mentally is affected by what we eat. There’s also over 40,000 brain like neurons found within our heart. When the body say’s ‘No’, is it more than just about food? Could it also be ‘feeling’ good about life choices too?

With me, my appendix burst and sent my body into shock. This life threatening condition required immediate surgery to clean and remove the poisonous infection. Physically I was in a bad way for a while fighting to get back to normal. Looking back and listening to my gut; I also believe this significantly changed my mental health too.

Think after a major health upheaval, is the body saying No based on life style too?

Yes, learn about the benefits of gut flora, the acid and alkaline states and what helps and hinders our bodies. Yes, removing excess sugars and re-thinking your diet could literally help you get your belly laugh back. Follow your gut feeling, it may be about life style choices too.

360 Mind and Body service, upgrade and reboot.

We are more than machines.

The 360 system is all about you. Understanding honestly where you are on the journey and offers you a safe place to pull over and refuel. For the body think like a car. We need to allocate time for an annual mot, 10,000-mile service to cover things like oil changes, emission checks, spark plug changes etc. Obviously, for more specialist vehicles we’ll be booking them in more frequently. If you owned a Ferrari would you put on cheap tyres, use cheap oil or ignore warning signs on the dash? No. Remind yourself you are way more complex and valuable than a Ferrari. We need to allocate time to know our own operating and service intervals and be thinking longevity. We need to know the mechanics of what makes us tick and sick. Don’t wait until you’re broken down before you call for roadside assistance. Book in, take charge and let those around you know you’ll be more reliable for the longer-term journey.

Software for the mind

Computers, phones and technology help us so much yet frustratingly may slow down and have gremlins in the system. This is normal as they’re expected to complete many tasks at once, across many different platforms. Normally, once they seem to stop, we allocate time for updates. Control-alt-delete may help in the short term. In our career, business and personal lives, we have so much going on too. New and changing relationships, expectations and task demands upon ourselves may identify our own operating glitches. Creatives may stop being creative and carers stop the passion for caring. It’s ok to admit we need help and support for the mind isn’t it? It’s ok to ask for time to process change and update? Time may be the problem and this is more of a luxury commodity than we think. People rely on us to run even though we suspect a system reboot is needed.

Defrag and system analyse?

In computer terms, every time we open a file, a cache or new version is created. The system stores another copy or fragment of the same item ready for quick access. The same as a memory or a worry, always open with many different versions at once. Defrag brings all the open and modified versions back to one. To store it properly without taking up valuable resources for other tasks. We are all human and our brain also needs to defrag too. Those who say, ‘just switch off, it’s the past, forget about it’ do not understand human software. As a human we can’t open the task manager and see clearly where the CPU is allocating its resources. We have emotions, fears, pasts, responsibilities and concerns which cannot be seen in a data file. Applying this to our own real lives is the key. Taking time out to learn about ourselves so we may also help others must be the right way.

The 360 support is a very simple way, with no code or techie training stuff needed, to quickly hack into you. To know what human software version you are running on, how to navigate and update your operating system. You’ll be your own tech support with a heart, mind and spirit to live not operate. Identify who in your team or relationships may benefit from our 360-update support and allocate the gift of time to learn.

The 360 system is for anyone who pro-actively wants to reboot and master the art of upgrading.
